2014 Waterloo Airshow - 6th Annual Event

The 6th annual airshow took place on June 28 - 29, 2014 - the Canada Day long weekend - officially, it wasn't a long weekend because Monday, June 30 was a regular work day but I think a lot of people had taken Monday off to make it a long weekend. We had a beautiful day all day Saturday and most of the day on Sunday as well. I left early on Sunday and was rained on during the drive home but I think the rains held off under the show was over.

The show was held at the Region of Waterloo International Airport, 4881 Fountain Street N, Breslau, which isn't in Waterloo but I guess its the region of Waterloo - I always have trouble finding it in my GPS unit, because the city changes depending on the GPS unit you have. I have an older GPS unit so they may have fixed it in the more current models.

Richard Cooper and David White are the airshow's producers. But are also pilots themselves. Here is Richard Cooper’s L-29 Delfín, the 500+ miles per hour Soviet/Czech-designed jet.

This was a new act for me - the Jet School Bus from the Indy Boys - a 367 mph school bus. Piloted by Paul Stender or his wife Therese - this bus is powered by an F-4 jet engine!

Overall another great show from the Waterloo airshow folks - hope to be there again next year - thank you. Also a big thanks to Nikon Canada for providing the 600mm lens - it attracted a lot of attention as usual but the images coming of it are worth it. The wide angle shots were provided by the Fuji X system.
