Sujeeone gets married

A fellow photographer Sujee got married this past weekend. I was not the TOG but was inspired by Jeff Ascough to try shooting with a prime all night long.

Waste of a street closure

July 17, 2009

Just for Laughs makes it way to Toronto for its 3rd year. I believe that last year's show started after Montreal's ended. So the same crew and events from Montreal performs in Toronto for the free street festival.

Yonge street - one of the busiest streets in Toronto was closed for the festival. Last year - it was worth it.

This year we get:

2009 - Guys with Balloons...

Don't know if the lack of the big parade is because of the Toronto City Workers Strike or because the crew is still in Montreal due to the concurrent festival dates...

But what a waste of a street closure - why close down Yonge Street if there is not going to be a big parade. Big disappointment for me this year - especially after the great shows from last year.

Cadence Showing and Official Launch Party, City Connect: Vancouver/Toronto

July 15-16, 2009

I had wonderfully time taking part in a self produced show from a Toronto based dance company – Cadence. They specialize in progressive contemporary ballet.

The show included dancers and choreographers from Vancouver and Toronto. The performance was staged at The Winchester Street Theatre – a converted church with beautiful stain glass windows. Too bad they had to be covered for the show.

Choreography by Courtnae Bowman and Donald Sales.

Since I failed the dance auditions – I got to take the pictures :-) Below are some photos from the rehearsal and performance.

Salsa on St. Clair street festival

July 11, 2009

I missed out on the festival last year, this year, I decided to catch the Sat. events. I wanted to test out the newly repaired D2x - the sensor was replaced by Nikon just last week. Everything seems to be working. Also trying out a new workflow on the back end.

Results can be seen below:
